The goal of the Dance Factory's Performance Company is to provide our dancers with more opportunities to perform. Through this company we hope that our dancers will improve in their dance technique confidence, creativity and build teamwork.

PROGRAM

The Performance Company is designed for non-competition Dance Factory students 3rd grade and above who would like to perform at several local area events throughout the year. These events might include:

• Washburn University Basketball (half time performance)

• Emporia State Basketball (half time performance)

• Kids Fest

• Local Retirement Communities

• Worlds of Fun

• Starpower Competition

• Primetime Competition
  

• West Ridge Mall

• Dance Factory Spring Recital

EXPECTATIONS

The Performance Company is designed for dancers who are willing to put in extra time and effort to further their dance education. In order to have a cohesive company, certain expectations are required. Some of the expectations are: good attendance, arriving for all classes on time, wearing the appropriate dance attire, and being a good role model for the younger dancers as well as your fellow class members. We hope that the following information will help you decide if the Performance Company is right for your dancer.

REQUIREMENTS FOR THE PERFORMANCE COMPANY DANCERS

EXPERIENCE

In order to participate, the dancer must have at least one year of dance experience at the Dance Factory.

If the dancer has danced at another studio, a private audition may be required.

REHEARSALS

The dancer must be willing to attend any scheduled rehearsals. Rehearsals will be held on Thursday evenings from 7:30 - 8:30 pm.

There is a one time $160 non refundable rehearsal fee due by Tuesday, August 23rd. 

COSTUMES

The dancer must be willing to pay a costume rental fee of $40. Costumes will be provided by the Dance Factory and must be returned to the Dance Factory by the end of each performance. Each dancer must also be willing to purchase the necessary shoes and tights for each dance.

The costume fee of $40 will be due by Tuesday, August 23rd.

WEEKLY TECHNIQUE CLASSES

The Performance Company dancers will be dancing 2 - 3 days a week.

PERFORMANCE COMPANY DANCERS

Tuition is due by the 10th of each month.

ATTENDANCE

Dancers will be allowed to miss up to 7 rehearsals for the dance year. It is the dancer's responsibility to stay caught up with the dances if they miss a rehearsal.

If a dancer falls behind, the Dance Factory faculty will take the necessary steps, which may include private lessons ($35 a hour), removal from a dance or dances, or removal from the Performance Company.

SUMMER INTENSIVE CLASSES

The Dance Factory will be having four days of Summer Intensives and rehearsals for all of the Performance Company dancers.

During the intensives the dancers begin working on technique and turns and leaps as well as begin rehearsals for the Performance Company; therefore, attendance is mandatory.

The Summer Intensive fee of $90 will be due by Tuesday, August 23rd.
