Q: When do classes start?

A: We run like a school year, so our classes start up after Labor Day and run thru the recital in June.

    EXCEPTION: Our Jump Start program for our 3 year olds - runs in two ten week sessions.

 

Q: Do you offer open classes?

A: Our technique and ballet classes are open year round.

    Jazz, Hip Hop, Lyrical and Tap classes are open through December, as the dancers

    will be working on recital dances.

 

Q: Do I need to audition to attend the Dance Factory?

A: No. Auditions are for those who would like to be on our Competition Team.

 

Q: How do I pay tuition?

A: Tuition is due by the 10th of each month and may be paid by cash, check, Visa or MasterCard.

    Just login to your studio account to make your tuition payment.

    Automatic monthly tuition payments may be charged to Visa or MasterCard.

    You may also pay your tuition by the semester or by the year.

 

Q: Will I receive a monthly statement?

A: Monthly statements are sent by e-mail only. If you do not have an e-mail address on file it will be your

    responsibility to pay tuition by the 10th of each month to avoid late fees.

 

Q: Where do I purchase my class uniform, shoes, tights and accessories?

A: The Dance Closet, located in the main hallway of the Dance Factory, is our very own dancewear

    supply shop for Dance Factory students.

    You can purchase all your necessities through the Dance Closet or even order online.

Q: What should I do if my child will be absent from class?

A: E-mail or call the office to inform the instructors of your child's anticipated absence.

 

Q: How will I know if classes are cancelled due to weather?

A:  If the schools districts in our area close due to snow, we will probably also be closed.

     However, sometimes the weather may clear up enough to have our evening classes.

     Therefore, the decision for class cancellations will posted on the website by 3pm.

     We will also call the local news stations in the event of a cancellation.

 

Q: What procedure does the Dance Factory follow in the event of a tornado warning?

A: All students will be escorted by faculty to Jazzercise, located at the west end of Fairlawn Mall.

    We will remain there until the warning has been removed by the National Weather Service.

    This is in accordance with Fairlawn Mall policy.

 

Q: Why do I pay for recital costumes in December when the recital is not until June?

A: Recital costumes are ordered from various costume companies.

    The companies do not stock the costumes. They make them once they receive an order;

    therefore, it may take several months for the costumes to even be shipped.

 

Q: What if the costume doesn't fit my dancer?

A: The Dance Factory has Costume Coordinators who size, fit and alter the costumes on all of

    our dancers to ensure proper fit.

 

Q: Are costume fees refundable?

A: Once we have placed the order for the costumes, the costume fee is non-refundable. 

 

Q: When will I receive my child's practice DVD?

A: Our 4 year old thru 2nd grade dancers will each receive a practice DVD for their recital dances. 

    DVD's will be passed out by the end of March.
